I just bought a 72 150 combo, that should
arrive next week. After reading about shock
hazards on guitarnuts.com, I have a couple of questions.
Does my new amp have a factory 3 prong plug?
If not, is it polerized?
Should I have a grounded cord installed?
The wiring in my home is safe, how much of a
shock hazard still exists?
Thanks for your help

Hi! No, the amp does NOT have a factory installed 3 prong cord!!! And you should install one right away if you plan on using this amp in a live situation. It may literally save your life! No fooling! The ground can save your lips from sizzling on a microphone, your hair from getting a quick perm, etc. Believe me, I took a poke off a mic years ago at a jamboree (playing through someone else's equipment) and it was not a fun thing! I saw white lightening and felt the lip burn, and then I stood there in shock. I couldn't move or function for awhile. It seemed like an eternity, even though it was only a minute or so... Don't make the mistake of thinking that a 2 prong, ungrounded cord is okay, cuz it's not, in that situation. If you are at home in the living room just playing by yourself, then it may not be a big deal. But, a 3 pronger will make the amp less prone to electrical interference noises from lights, etc. So, you decide.
