I recently got my first Kustom amp, a K200 B-2 model with SN 37829, it was working perfectly before shipping.

During shipping apparently the bright channel got damaged, I have pretty much no sound when I strum the guitar - when the volume is around 2 to 4 I can faintly hear the guitar sound.

The reverb works if I tap the amp and all the knobs make some nice hissing when I turn them, when I plug the instrument cable I do have plugging in noises. No idea if trem works.

I'm using a transformer to convert the power from 220V to 127V, I tested two transformers with this setting, one small one that only goes up to 100VA and other big one that goes up to 1000VA, both have the same result.

Normal channel works as expected, its amazing and its super loud.

I know absolutely nothing about repairing guitar amps.

Seeking some help into identifying the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome.
Sorry you have a issue , but these amps are extremely rugged and shipping one should not make it fail unless the had been worked on and now has what I think is a bad connection on that preamp board.

Not to be mean but your comment that you tried 2 different step down transformer and got the same results ( as one would) tells me that you really have not enough electronics knowledge to be trouble shooting a amp, so please bring it to a repair tech so you do not do more unintentional damage to the amp.

Note that you have to make a total of 5 post that I approve before the post you make go right up to the web board, also note that this site does not except photos.

If your tech needs help on the repair have him post questions.

No mean at all! I'm a total nobody when it comes to electronics. I'm a software engineer, hardware isn't my thing.

I will get in contact with a tech and if needed I'll post again, thank you Steve.
